At the beginning of the 90s, Germany was in the grip of Opel Manta fever… and I photographed the car quite often afterwards. Skeptical, I was able to drive a good two-liter on a closed track and was somewhat reformed, because it really is a well-balanced car with a lot of driving fun potential.

Funnily enough, I took photos on the set of the rival film “Manta – The Movie” in 1991 and dented my first car myself. Fortunately, that didn’t happen to me 30 years later when I drove around the original film locations in Düsseldorf and Wuppertal in the original Manta from “Manta, Manta”. I feel even luckier now, because I don’t have to go to the RTL jungle camp like Tina Ruland, the lead actress at the time…
