Last week, a photography portal asked me (and I’m sure a lot of colleagues too) for my favorite picture from 2015. Not so easy, because you have to think about the context in which you present it. It has to be professional and should have a certain connection to the customer. Otherwise it quickly looks like a photo club for the photocommunity, and I would like to avoid that. So it was forbidden to show my real favorite photo, which has primarily idealistic value, and to top it all off was “only” shot with my iPhone.

Anyway, I’ll show it here after all. Yes, it’s already been on FB, but I just can’t resist unpacking it again in this context and telling you something about it. Almost exclusively, because it’s just us here, isn’t it?

I was out and about in Sollèr on a November afternoon, having a “café solo”, when I noticed the moon and the glowing eastern sky behind the Serra de Tramuntana, as well as the glowing green cross of the pharmacy. However, the foreground was too empty for me, but only for a few seconds, because the scooter driver arrived at just the right moment to bring some dynamism into the beautiful, but also very static situation. And more importantly, I got the phone out of my pocket quickly enough. A circumstance that has probably prevented many good photos from being taken… but this time it worked and we can all be happy about this photo.

And which picture did I send to the photographer portal? The BMW in Duisburg. That’s also a rather personal photo that wasn’t published. The other pictures of the production were, of course, because I don’t just do it for fun. Yes, a bit, but not just for fun.
